Captain Al is a retired airline pilot who has logged more than 38,000 hours flying around the world from the continental United States to the Caribbean, Europe and Africa. He has also sailed the Caribbean Islands and the Florida Coast for 30 years. He is very familiar with the underwater terrain of these areas and is ever vigilant of the safety of his passengers and crew. He holds a US Coast Guard Master 100 ton Captain license including STCW-95. He is also an excellent diver and can teach you how to snorkel and experience the wonders of the underwater world.
First mate Diane after more than 20 years as a printing professional left the printing industry to peruse her lifelong love of the sea and boating. She has previously owned 26 and 40 foot boats and has traveled the waters of the Caribbean and Florida extensively. After putting on her first pair of swim fins at the age of 22 it has been per primary passion and is as comfortable on or in the water as she is on land. She can also instruct you in your underwater adventures. Diane has also enjoyed sharpening her culinary skills since she could reach the kitchen counter with the aid of a chair. She will be preparing your meal selections. She will be happy to assist you in making your cruise a memory of a lifetime.
Second Mate Birdie (Quaker Parrot) issues greetings to all that board the Antares as well as chatting with anyone who passes by. Birdie has been with Captain Al since being rescued (Birdie has one wing) 12 years ago.
