We want you remember this as one of your most memorable vacations." Gary Dawson, your Captain, is licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and holds a M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. After selling computer software for 25 years throughout the U.S., Europe & Asia he decided to turn his passion for sailing into a career. Gary’s degree and 30 yrs. sailing experience from the Great Lakes to the Caribbean makes him an ideal Captain for running and maintaining the charter vessel FREEDOM. Captain Dawson is an A.S.A. Certified Sailing Instructor. His easy going, "hands on" teaching style is sure to develop your confidence and knowledge of sailing and cruising. He is also a PADI Ccertified Ddive Master and enjoys sharing the underwater sights of the Caribbean with our guests. Gary’s inspiration, "Captain Ron" (the movie) is sure to lend a laidback attitude along with the spirit of fun and hilarity to your cruising adventure. Off-season, you’ll find Gary sailing Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix on the Sunshine, a 45ft cutter rigged ketch. Many of FREEDOM's features are very unique and perfect for offering you the best possible vacation. The trimaran design offers you a several large deck areas for sunbathing during the day or cocktails and appetizers at sunset.
