Captain Rob Nixon and First Mate Michele Nixon want to welcome you to your custom-tailored vacation.
Rob & Michele have been the owners/operators of Island Skipper for over 7 years. Both are U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captains and have a love for the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. Rob is a PADI Dive Master and will enjoy sharing the spectacular underwater world with you.
Rob Nixon grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay and his voyages have taken him from New England to the Caribbean. Rob has always had the entrepreneurial spirit, and after college he started a local delivery company in the Washington, DC area. As a “jack of all trades,” Rob's mechanical skills and ingenuity keep Island Skipper running smoothly.
Michele Fox Nixon , raised in Pennsylvania, grew up canoeing and fishing but not sailing. She went sailing for the first time when she was 10 and that experience has stayed with her. Michele has a marketing degree from James Madison University in Virginia and put her degree to use for 8 years as an industrial sales representative in the Washington, DC area. Michele is a skilled chef, whose specialties range from Caribbean dishes to familiar favorites.
Rob & Michele met water skiing 15 years ago. Initially, they planned to go cruising on a sailboat when they retired but their love of sailing and the Caribbean got the better of them. So they bought Island Skipper in 1996 and set sail to the Virgin Islands. Rob & Michele enjoy sharing their love of the Islands with their guests. They fully believe this is your vacation, and they strive to ensure it is your best ever. |
