Sue and Corky Clark have been designing and leading outdoor programs on land and sea since 1980 with the founding of their Connecticut-based adventure travel business, The Mountain Workshop, Inc. Guided expeditions over the last 30 years have included cross country skiing in Yellowstone, fly-in wilderness canoe trips to Maine's Allagash and St John rivers, Everglades expeditions, adventures to the Yucatan, Belize and Amazon. Their business also included corporate training programs, school field trips and a popular summer youth camp, Awesome Adventures. After the sale of The Mountain Workshop in 2005, Corky and Sue pursued their dream of going to sea with the purchase of the catamaran, Surprise. From their successful outfitting business, the Clarks have retained a love for introducing their guests to the joys of the natural world, this time under sail. Corky's sailing career began at age 10. He won the sailing trophy at sailing camp, taught sailing at 16, cruised a 19 foot open sloop along the coast of Maine at 20. Since then he has raced to Bermuda and Hallifax, delivered yachts from the Caribbean and sailed across the South Pacific. His interests are far ranging and include history and natural sciences. With great knowledge of the outdoors and repeated qualifications in First Aid and CPR, Corky holds a USCG Master's License with Sailing Endorsement. Among many accomplishments, Sue is a published author, field botanist and award-winning gourmet cook. In addition to serving the best chocolate chip cookies in the world, she is a grandmother of two boys who would rather be with her living and adventuring outdoors than anywhere else. Sue Clark placed second in the 2010 Newport Charter Boat Show Chowder Competition, beating all of the Superyacht chefs!
